🔐 Safety First: Your Protection Comes First
Urban exploring takes you to abandoned buildings, dark tunnels and unstable constructions. Safety is not a luxury, but an absolute necessity. Make sure you always have the right protective equipment with you:
Dust mask or gas mask
Protects your lungs against mold, dust particles and potentially harmful fumes.
Gloves (cut resistant)
For protection against rusty nails, broken glass and rough surfaces.
Sturdy shoes or boots (preferably with steel toe caps)
Prevent injuries from nails, sharp objects or collapsing floors.
First aid kit
Always on hand for minor cuts, scrapes or insect bites.
Headlamp or flashlight (with extra batteries)
Poor lighting is standard in urbex. Good lighting is essential.
👉 Never set out unprepared — safety is the foundation of every good adventure.
💡 Tips from The Urbex Factory
We've visited hundreds of locations, taken thousands of photos, and learned just as many lessons. Here are 5 tips from our crew that will take your urbex session to the next level:
- Never go alone
An urbex buddy ensures safety and extra eyes for cool shots. - Plan your route in advance
View satellite images and check access options before you go. - Make sure you always have a way out
Escape routes are just as important as entrances — don't lose sight of them. - Leave no trace
Respect each location. Take only photos, leave only footprints. - Dress discreetly and functionally
Black or dark green works best. No flashy clothing or loud gear.
